As children, theyd read about indigo in history books and how the manufacturing of this dye had left an indelible mark on the countrys history. But now, so many years since, shed recently learnt that modern-day indigo was used to colour the same blue jeans she wore nearly every day, whether to work, run errands or even attend sophisticated dinners. It amazed her that something so ordinary could have such extraordinary roots, and that no matter how far into the future the world moved, there would always be a little part of everyday life that would remind them where they came from.
